Night combat is how to find a library without paying a boss, and how to beat a patrol without a hex. Coen’s claws are faster than his sword personality. Voracious Bite starts a fight with stolen health. Piercing Shriek stuns the weaker body so you can isolate the officer. Shadowstep is both a gap-closer and a traversal spell with a yellow disc that tells you where you will land. If the disc is wrong, you are about to blink into a sermon.

The night kit
- Claws: directional still matters, but the string is meaner and less ceremonial.
- Voracious Bite: feed and heal. Do not test it on a named ally. Bloodthirst is the long warning.
- Piercing Shriek: peel the add, then duel.
- Shadowstep: yellow disc, short teleport, combat and parkour.
- Planeshift: walls and ceilings. The cathedral skip lives here.
- Wolf form: overland speed with limits. A perk, not a default.
- Clawride: high-speed vertical drop, shown as a traversal flourish.
Night abilities in the overviews do not sit on the same charge meter as hexes. That is why a Predator feels rich at 2 a.m. and poor at noon. Slot sword perks that still work in both skies if you refuse to be useless at breakfast. The hybrid page is that compromise.
Stealth is not optional flavour
Guards and civilians both exist after dark. A public monster is an Infamy and hunger event. Enter towns high. Feed outside. Use Focus (heightened vampire senses, blood trails) to hunt clues instead of knocking on doors that closed at dusk. If a quest is a conversation, wait for day. If a quest is a window, you are already in the right kit.
How to skip a fight honestly
The cathedral example is the template: the day version is a Witcher-shaped hunt that ends in a confrontation. The night version is rafters, Planeshift, and a library. The elder vampire can still appear later because you did not kill her — you omitted her. That is how to complete an objective without beating the set-piece. It is also how to leave power on the table. Choose with the time system in mind, not only with your ego.
