Launch-night rules for a 30-day RPG

The Blood of Dawnwalker Beginner Tips

These beginner tips are the bruises from preview reports, not a lore essay. The Blood of Dawnwalker will tempt Witcher habits: take the notice board, clear the map, buy the next sword, sleep when you feel like it. Sleep is a lie here. The notice board is a set of bids on your family’s remaining mornings. Play greedy with time and cheap with pride.

Pair this list with how to play if a term is new, and with the time planner if you are the kind of person who needs to see thirty boxes before you believe them.

Twelve rules that save a day

  • If there is no hourglass, explore it. If there is an hourglass, read the cost twice.
  • Skipping a quest is a feature. PC Gamer’s hands-on is literally about enjoying that.
  • Turn on omniattack/omniblock until directional fencing is in your hands. Turn them off for bosses you want to learn.
  • Eat during the day. Feed during the night. Do not mix the two sentences. Bloodthirst explains the second.
  • Put food in the shrine chest before a risky night.
  • Do not dump skill points into all three trees on day two. Nodes can cost time.
  • Pick Swordsman, Predator, or Hybrid as a sentence, not as a Steam achievement.
  • Learn one rooftop route in the first town at night even if you like swords. Access is the vampire’s loot table.
  • Watch officer aggression. Infamy is content, not a wanted level to wash off in a haystack.
  • The family is the clock. Brencis’s door on day one is allowed and unwise.
  • Loot weapons for swing personality, not only for a bigger number. Directional combat cares about tempo. See weapons.
  • When lost, open the map and walk to a shrine. Travel is free. Panic spends segments.

Combat habits that fill charges

Activation charges fill when you fence well. Players who mash and then wonder why hexes are dead are fighting the resource loop. Acrid Dust is the opener shown in the first gameplay overview. Burning Blood is the pressure. Artery Attack is the execution that can take a head. That sequence is the tutorial whether the game labels it or not. Full breakdown on daytime combat.

At night, do not treat claws as a reskin of the sword string. Bite when the yellow conditions are honest. Shriek the add. Shadowstep the elite. The night combat page is the rest of that paragraph.

Story habits that keep NPCs useful

Talk more than you commit. Timed dialogue exists; missing a beat is a fork, not a reload trigger. Allies are scarce because the month is scarce. If someone offers a rebellion, that is a character page problem, not a side activity. If someone offers teeth for a pixie, that is the Pearly and Precious lesson: small jobs can hide large rewards, but they still have to pass the hourglass test.

Frequently asked questions

Should I pre-order for the armor?

Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor is an early unlock for pre-orders and is also obtainable later in-game. It is not a reason to skip editions comparison for the soundtrack or the figurine.

Keyboard or controller?

The studio recommends a controller. Directional combat is built for sticks and bumpers. Keyboard binds are on the controls page either way.

What should I download besides the game?

Nothing mandatory. Use this wiki’s build planner if you want a loadout on a second screen. No Trello board is required to play.
