A small valley on purpose
The Blood of Dawnwalker World
The Blood of Dawnwalker is set in 1347, in Vale Sangora, a fictional Carpathian kingdom rich in silver and poor in luck. The Black Death arrived. A human king tried to murder the sick. Brencis arrived with a better offer: his blood as medicine, a cancelled tax ledger, and a new levy measured in drops. The weak still die at the monthly gathering. The valley is not huge because Rebel Wolves are allergic to filler. If a ruin is on the map, it is supposed to mean something.
Use this hub to get the politics. Use characters for the court and the family. Use infamy for edicts, flags, and the parley. Use locations when you need Svartrau, the Howling Keep, and Shrike’s Crag named properly. Use enemies for what actually swings at you. Use lore when you want Rome, Greece, and the later saga teases.
How the valley is carved
Brencis split Vale Sangora into three dominions for his officers. Ambrus — youngest, something to prove — stocks blood and runs draining dungeons. Bakir handles distilleries and the brutality that keeps people drinking instead of plotting. Xanthe, oldest, manufactures Blood Guards and collects rumours about rituals and disappearances. Infamy is your relationship with those machines. Raise it on purpose. The Predator page treats that as a rotation. A Swordsman can still burn a dungeon in daylight and make a scene.
People under the tax
Laslea is Coen’s farm village. Svartrau is the silver capital that grew rich and grew thieves. Maragir holds a tired monastery and Codrin’s family land in the Part III overview. Wayside shrines stitch these names together as fast travel, stash, and skill sinks. Optional creatures — sanzhana pixies, mural heroes, things that are not elves — exist so the valley is folklore instead of a generic fantasy spreadsheet. IGN’s fantasy-race piece is worth the click if you care; this wiki keeps them on the enemies page until they owe you a mechanical trick. Play a dominion at both hours of the clock, log one shrine and one rumour, then leave. Density is a gift only if you refuse to cash every icon on day two. Untimed folklore is what you do while waiting for night, not what you mortgage the family for. Fighting that itch is how you reach the coronation with a full quest log and an empty house — a review talking point and a time planner failure.
Frequently asked questions
Is Vale Sangora a real place?
No. It is a gothic fiction assembled from Hungarian, Romanian, and Carpathian archaeology and myth. The year 1347 is the historical plague frame.
How big is the map?
Official size boasts are less useful than density talk. Travel is free. Vertical night routes make the same hectare larger. Use shrines; do not treat the valley like a horse-simulator.
