A story with vampires, not a lecture about vampires
The Blood of Dawnwalker Lore
Konrad Tomaszkiewicz’s line is the brief: they want a story with vampires, not a story only about vampires. Traditional weaknesses — silver, sun, garlic — are twisted rather than copied. Silver is bound up in Coen’s failed turning and the valley’s wealth. The sun does not burn a Dawnwalker; it confiscates the monster. Garlic can wait for a loading-screen tip. The cinematic trailer and gameplay teaser below is the mythic tone; this page is the timeline underneath it.
1347, silver, plague
Vale Sangora sits on silver. Svartrau got rich, then got criminals. The plague let Brencis walk out of the dark with a medical miracle that is also a leash. A blood tax replaces the old obligations. Monthly gatherings cull the weak. Coen’s household is already living in that arithmetic before the coronation plot starts. The world hub is the civic version of this paragraph.
Brencis as history, not costume
Born 131 AD to a Roman noble line, baptized Caeso Burrienus Laurentius, career in the Senate, then the long night. He has been watching the valley. The investiture as prince is a political cosplay that costs Coen’s family. Officers come from other centuries on purpose — Xanthe’s Greek priesthood, Ambrus’s hungry modernity, Bakir’s talent for keeping people drunk and afraid. The court is a passport stamp collection. See characters for voices and jobs.
What a Dawnwalker is
A failed siring that the court misread as a corpse. Human verbs at noon, vampire verbs at night, unburned by light. Witchcraft scars heal when the monster is awake, which is a lore reason for a mechanical split. Later Rebel Wolves games in the saga are promised in other eras, self-contained, no time-travel glue. Summer Game Fest even flashed a modern-day tease. This first chapter does not need you to care. It needs you to finish a month in 1347.
